Buttermilk Curry Recipe

Buttermilk Curry

Ingredients of Buttermilk Curry

  • 4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 pinches asafoetida
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 2 sprigs coriander leaves
  • 2 inches ginger
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 10 curry leaves
  • 4 red chilli
  • 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
  • 4 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 2 green chilli
  • salt as required
  • 2 tablespoon rice flour

How to make Buttermilk Curry

Step 1 Prepare the buttermilk mixtureFirstly, take a bowl and pour the buttermilk into it. Now add salt, turmeric and rice flour and beat the mixture well until smooth and creamy.

Step 2 Prepare the tadkaNext, place ginger, green chillies and coriander leaves over a chopping board and chop them finely. Also, mince curry leaves and keep them aside. On the other hand, place a kadhai over medium flame and pour oil in it. Once the oil is heated, add mustard seeds. When the seeds start to splutter, add fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds, red chillies, asafoetida and curry leaves. Stir them well.

Step 3 Cook the curryNow add chopped ginger, green chillies and cilantro and saute well for a minute. Turn the flame low and add the buttermilk mixture. While stirring continuously, cook the mixture for 6-8 minutes.

Step 4 Ready to be servedServe hot with chapati or rice. Enjoy!
